Lower Buckton Country House

Henry and Carolyn Cheeshire serve award winning breakfasts and delicious dinners all made from food and produce which has either been home-grown/produced/reared at Lower Buckton or locally sought, bought and caught using the best local seasonal ingredients available on the day.

The food served can be traced locally, has a provenance and a history. There is a local connection with the food and it is hoped that guests will take pleasure in this knowledge and understand that by being a super-market-free zone is helping to contribute to the local community and economy and support small-scale, individual producers.

At Lower Buckton, Henry and Carolyn specialise in growing and producing vegetables and fruit for year-round eating and they keep free-range, rare-breed Berkshire pigs for the best pork and crackling ever!

They are members of Slow Food and Carolyn was one of 30 cooks representing the UK at Slow Food's Terra Madre in Turin 06. She appeared alongside Paul Rankin and Anthony Worral Thompson on UK TV's The People's Cook Book in 2007 and demonstrates her own special style of cooking at various shows, food festivals and Slow Food events.

They have won The Flavours of Herefordshire Best Breakfast Award for two years' running (2006 & 20O7) and were Midlands' Winner of the Best Breakfast in 2005.
