Pop up Local to Ludlow Shop
Starting Thursday 9th April 9-2pm, there will be a pop up food shop, trading at the Local to Ludlow HQ, 4 Castle Square, Ludlow. To comply with trading standards the customers will be dealt with by staff from within the shop, with a managed queue system outside. There will be items for sale and pre orders for collection from some of the stallholders that attend the Ludlow Local Produce Market.
Food and drink from the following producers confirmed so far are: Perry Wood Farm (Lamb and mutton), Augernick Fruit Farm (seasonal fruit and cobnuts), appleTeme (apple Juice), Pentre Farm (vegetarian food pre order only), Shropshire Honey, Matty’s Delices (bread and baked goods), Shropshire Salumi (charcuterie), Lizzies Layers (free range eggs), Hundred House Coffee, Key Cottage Catering, Fletchers Cider, Ludlow Jam Pan (jams and chutney) plus other local producers including Lane Cottage Produce (salad bags). The shop will be managed by Tish Dockerty and family members. We will be adhering to strict social distancing rules and all payments will need to be made by contactless card. Please bring your own shopping bag. If successful we will be making it a regular weekly pop up shop.
Tish Dockerty market manager of the Ludlow Local Produce Market adds ‘ We need to keep these small food and drink producers going through this extreme situation, sales have just plummeted since lock down, especially since it was announced the markets are to close. Many of the stallholders are offering free deliveries to try and incentivise people to think outside the box when shopping for goods. Being able to operate outdoors is nothing unusual for us and is probably far healthier than going inside a busy shop.’

Local to Ludlow is a Community Interest Company that promotes food and drink from within 30 miles of Ludlow with the aim of reducing the environmental cost of food production and to support the local food economy.
